Business travel is one of those things that so many people have to do but really, REALLY don’t enjoy. If you travel for business a lot, here are some things we suggest to help make your life easier and business travel a lot less stressful.

  • Always Have a Bag Packed and Ready to Go With Proper and Clean Clothes
    • Go to Amazon.com or one of the local big box retailers in your area and look for an appropriately sized travel bag; you will probably want something that is small enough to carry on an airplane! ALWAYS keep this bag packed with your business clothes and anything you will need on your trip. Also, have plenty of business cards and other promotional tools made up beforehand, and keep them in a side pocket. In the bag you might want some leisure/exercise clothes to stay active on the road.

      • Travel size toiletries, especially if you are flying with carryon. A good tip is to buy one travel size of everything you use at home, and refill it when you return. This keeps the costs down.
  • Book in Advance and Bundle to Save Money
    • Check any and all of the popular discount travel sites. A lot of them offer the same deals, but the need to compete so the tend to offer better deals to different regions or with certain companies. For the best deals check the sites regularly or sign up for reminders to the places you travel most.
      • Bundle car, hotel, flight.
        • Almost all of the big travel sites offer bundle packages if you make all of your reservations with them, try to do this whenever you can for money AND time savings.
  • Look for Rewards Programs
    • If you are a frequent traveler, look for a rewards credit card with the airline you like most. A lot of airlines have rewards programs that are so good, business travelers often get double the rewards or more. Depending how frequent you travel the more you save. Rewards members also get front of the line privileges usually and we all know how valuable business time is!
